Many people ask me what made me change my mind and direction from working for an NGO to start my own business. I think everyone of us has something to share with the world. We have a mission to achieve in life. My mission is “To live with integrity and make positive changes on the lives of other people” I’ve had this mission before starting my business. Living with this mission I always asked myself how can use my talents, skills, and knowledge to influence thousands of people to live better lives?
On 20 November 2009 I flew to India for an international conference. While I was in airport in Thailand for a flight transit to India. I met a group of Indian entrepreneurs. I attracted them to talk to me because I was reading books while I was at the airport “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People“. The reason is because the founder of their company endorsed this book by Stephen R. Covey. We talked about the book and how we apply those habits in our lives.
Then they induced me to total new topic that I never think of. The topic that I sometimes felt not good about. We started to talk about “Rich People & How To Becoming Rich” And they introduced me to Rich Dad Poor Dad and CashFlow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. They summarized some key ideas from the books. And I thought I needed to do something difference for myself and my country. From that moment entrepreneurship become something very interesting to me. When I was in India I bought a lot of books and many of them are written by Robert Kiyosaki.
When I came back I did not read books by Robert Kiyosaki. I asked my wife to read them while I was enjoying reading leadership and management related books. My wife read them and shared what she understood from the books to me. I became interested in Robert Kiyosaki’s work more from her sharing.
Then we decided to start our business, PM Leadership. And over the years we are a great followers of Robert Kiyosaki and his Rich Dad Team. We have started CashFlow Club Cambodia with the support of Robert Kiyosaki’s strategic partner Mr. Bellum Tan.
This year, 2015 Robert Kiyosaki published a new book SECOND CHANCE ” For Your Money, Your Life and Your World” It is the most important book written by him because is about the prediction of the future of our world particularly financial system. The Second Chance is written based on his knowledge and experiences he learned from Dr. Buck Minster Fuller and his life experiences as an entrepreneur and investor.
This book reinforces my entrepreneur spirit become stronger and I am sure it will do the same for you. The three most important questions that he raises in his book is something that you and I need to ask ourselves each and everyday.
Robert Kiyosaki concludes SECOND CHANCE with these questions:
- Rather than look for a job, look for problems that need solving.
- Rather than work hard for money, work hard to serve people.
- Rather than ask god for help, find ways you can help god.
All in All, SECOND CHANCE is a great book, covering a lot more than just investment advice. The first part of the book reads very much like autobiography. Robert Kiyosaki explains his philosophy, and his spiritual approach to life. The last two parts of the book represent advice similar to CashFlow Quadrant. He mentioned that Rich Dad Poor Dad was actually began as a brochure for marketing the CashFlow Game.
